You'll find that cedarwood essential oil may have a range of colors. This one is a beautiful red, due to its origin as the heartwood of older trees and its aroma is some of the best we,ve smelled for that same reason. Grown here in the USA!
Cedarwood is useful in a variety of situation. Its gentleness and antiseptic properties make it a great addition to respiratory blends for children, you probably want to have this on hand. Its also a great addition to natural insect repellants, which keeps the deet off our little ones.
It's also a very relaxing oil. Enjoy it in the evenings as you shrug off the stress of the day and settle in for the night. It can calm a mind to drift off to peaceful rest. Mixed with Patchouli and Sweet Orange it can be a great combination! Diluted, it can be awesome in a nice relaxing massage or a warm bath — great for muscular and joint support, especially if you mix it with other oils that are also supportive (like Roman Chamomile).
Have an old cedar chest in your home that isn't as fragrant as it once was? Mix some cedarwood essential oil and a carrier like fractionated coconut oil in a spray bottle and spritz the chest. You'll be surprised that it's revived to a lovely scent again. And, like cedar, this essential oil will help repel unwanted insects from attacking Grandma's handmade quilts!
In blends for oily skin, cedarwood is a fantastic addition due to its antiseptic and astringent properties.
It is important to address some controversy that's been created due to confusing two species. Some claim that Juniperus virginiana is not to be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but they've confused it with Juniperus sabina, which is known to induce abortion when taken orally. This oil is extracted from Juniperus virginiana and is on the FDA list as being acceptable to add to food for flavoring, so it's pretty clear that this is not the same oil! FDA guidelines are pretty strict there. Juniperus virginiana (Cedarwood essential oil) is NOT known to induce abortion.
Due to its calming properties, this is a great oil for calming fear, anger, and anxious feelings, giving peace to your turmoil. It has a wonderful ability to ground and balance me, helping me focus on what I need to focus on instead of all the negative my mind can dwell on. It's an excellent oil to partner with in your prayer room.
With our pre-diluted oils . . . if diluted for kids is the highest dilution you see, it’s also the max dilution possible. Pre-diluted oils are in fractionated coconut oil.

I’m a big fan of cedar wood Atlas, so I knew I had to try this one. In my opinion, this Juniperus Virginiana is cleaner, sharper, it has more of a “crisp” or “bright” aroma to it. I am now a big fan of this one!!
