Secret Weapon

Reformulated since its release in the November 2017 AromaBox™ . . . DeRu Extracts' Secret Weapon is better than ever!  Petitgrain Bigarade has much more "bite" so we reformulated with our much smoother Petitgrain Paraguayan to soften some of the rough edges.  Secret Weapon was our all, time #1 selling essential oil blend before we took it out of the store to be reformulated, we know you loved it and are sure you'll love it's reformulated version just as well.  This night time blend is the perfect addition to a bedtime ritual and requires just a dab!  Out of the bottle, this blend is incredibly strong but with only 4 or so drops in a diffuser, it reminds us of fresh, clean sheets — a perfect way to end your day.

This blend has been "Husband tested, Wife approved!" (As in, my first test subject was my very talkative husband who tends to stay up until the wee morning hours ~ put this in the diffuser around 10 PM and within 30 minutes everything was so peaceful here!)

Enjoy your Secret Weapon today!

Love this blend. I have been using it in my diffuser for the last week. Great way to wind down after a day of work.

I really enjoy this blend, every time I use it I notice a different note peeking through. It smells different in the diffuser vs the aromastick, vs my diffuser necklace but I enjoy all three. I don’t enjoy ylang ylang so thankfully it’s not strong in this blend.

Secret Weapon Safety Info

Tisserand and Young note that ylang ylang should not be used topically with children under 2, so when used in a diffuser or inhaler, there should be no risk with Secret Weapon.  Secret Weapon should Secret Weapon follow the safety guidelines below. ~ Source:  Tisserand, Robert and Young, Rodney. Essential Oil Safety: A Guide for Health Care Professionals: Churchill Livingstone; 2 edition (2013). Reading the full profile for each essential oil in Secret Weapon is highly suggested by your DeRu Staff.

While we’ve made this clear that we are selling this essential oil blend for use your diffuser, inhaler, or topically (diluted), it is a pure essential oil blend and can be used as such.  With all essential oil blends:

  • Never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes (this includes mouth, ear canals, noses, genital regions as well as internal areas).  The strength of essential oil blends can easily damage these soft tissue areas.
  • Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner.
    Keep away from children.
  • If applying an essential oil blend to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the essential oil blend in an appropriate carrier).

  • Oral Safety is only given because many people have been told to take oils internally.  Because several people look to us for safety advice, we feel obligated to offer those safety statements, although we do not believe anyone should be ingesting extracts without being guided by an expert.  Experts will take your medical history into account before they suggest oils for you to ingest, diffuse, or use topically.
